about

In the fall of 2021, I spent a few days in a cabin at the top of a mountain in Moravian Falls, North Carolina. I took my guitars and recorded acoustic demos of these three songs while I was there.

The Moravians were a Christian missionary movement from Germany that hosted over 100 years of 24/7 prayer and worship. Their motto was “May the Lamb Receive the Reward of His Suffering.” A large portion of the Appalachian foothills of North Carolina where I recorded these tracks were originally settled by the Moravians when they moved south from Pennsylvania in the 1700s — during the same period of history in which they were maintaining their non-stop prayer vigil.
